Busy in the Studio

A lot of work has been going on in the studio getting ready for Fall shows, that is when I’ve been home to work in there.  Brett and I closed on a beautiful Colorado mountain home in November.    Of course we have wanted to be there as much as possible.  I’ve spent the last several months taking up different groups of friends for week long vacations.  It has been so fun sharing our second home with them.

I love nature and it’s so nice to go exploring in the cool Colorado weather where  you actually want to be outside. I love listening to the wind singing through the trees and discovering the different flora and fauna that graces the winding paths.  There is inspiration at every turn.  My creative side has been on overdrive from all the beauty and the peacefulness of God’s amazing creations. I can’t tell you how inspiring it has been!

This pendant is one of the results of  that inspiration.   I could not work on anything else until I was able to bring it to life.  Its name still escapes me. I hope you like it as much as I do.

This pendant was inspired by one of my trips to our home in Pagosa Springs, CO

Back to Blogging

As you can see it has been a long time since my first post.  I started this blogging journey in conjecture with my craft business Mixed-Up Creations so I would be available for my mother and mother-in-law whom both joined our household.  I have been kept busy with creating my mixed media art and the rapid illness of my mother.  Mom left to be with her Lord and Savior on February 14th. A couple months later my mother-in-law no longer suffered from the debilitating illness of Alzheimers.  I know that they are smiling down from heaven in their restored bodies!

Art has always been away for me to relax and decompress.  Creating art takes me a peaceful place. Here are some pictures of some of the things I have been making.  Keep watch for some future tutorials.  What makes your stress and worries melt away?
